You don't have to be in crisis to pray. You don't have to be struggling to meditate. You don't have to be lost before you seek guidance.
By Sandranza, traditional healer
We are so used to taking care of everyting outside of ourselves but somewhere along the way, we can forget to care for the part of us that carries all of it.
Our spirit.
I don't believe you have to wait for life to fall apart before you begin tending to your spiritual life.
You don't have to be in crisis to pray.
You don't have to be struggling to meditate.
You don't have to be lost before you seek guidance.
And you don't have to wait until something hurts before you become curious about what is happening within you.
Sometimes spiritual care is simply creating enough quiet to hear yourself again.
It can be sitting under a tree and allowing yourself to breathe.
Walking barefoot on the earth.
Writing down the things you cannot yet say out loud.
Learning the traditions of your people.
Speaking to your ancestors in a way that feels meaningful to you.
Lighting a candle.
Sitting beside water.
Creating a small ritual when you are moving through a transition.
Or simply sitting in silence and asking yourself:
“What is my life asking from me right now?
And sometimes the answer is simply
Trust yourself.
I have come to understand that spirituality is not about escaping the human experience. It is about becoming more present inside it.
We are constantly becoming.
Life changes us. Love changes us. Loss changes us. Even the things we once prayed for can change us when they finally arrive.
And through all of this, there is a part of us that needs somewhere to breathe.
And perhaps healing is not always about finding something that is wrong with you.
Perhaps sometimes it is simply about coming home to yourself.
Back to the quiet knowing that was there before the world became so loud.
Your spiritual life deserves care too.
Not because you are broken.
But because you are human
